Is good fortune a result of good luck? I remember when I aced my college final, and someone said, "Oh she's so lucky." Many students in my class had failed this test because it was difficult. They were all confused as to how a high school student could succeed in a college class. They all believed that I had discovered a means to cheat or that I had simply been fortunate in my guesses. They were unaware that I had spent several weeks studying and getting ready for this exam. I am an extremely driven individual who dislikes failure and weakness.
I had made it a goal of mine to ace this test and do well. I questioned my professor frequently to be sure I was receiving accurate information. I also canceled a lot of plans over most of the weekend in order to remain home and study. To earn a decent grade, I invested a lot of time. Therefore, it didn't seem like luck to me. My father has a saying that “Opportunity meets preparation” that is what luck is. So no, I wasn't lucky I just put in a lot of effort to earn the grade I wanted and deserved. Through this action, I have pushed myself harder than most people and never give up no matter how difficult or impossible the task was. I have learned that anything is possible if you truly want it.
