There are a lot of current events I’ve could have picked from, but the riot at Capitol Hill is the event that stood out to me the most. This event will be viewed as a historical moment in America’s history. It just occurred January 6,2021 in the Us Capitol Hill.It was a riot of Trump supporters upset over the outcome of the presidential election and to reduce the operation for the finalization of the election. Thousands of people stormed into the Capitol Hill causing some deaths and injuries. The chaos had started in a “Save America” Trump rally. Trump had advised his supporters to march to Capitol Hill to fight to stop the count. They had slowed the process down of certifying Joe Biden as the 46 president of the United States.Police had come to stop the violent mob from entering the capitol. However, they couldn't stop the violent mob and this is when the destruction and the problems started occurring.
Members of the violent mob had gone to every door waving the confederate flag and looting offices of senators and congressmen. During all of this the mob kept repeating that Trump was the real winner of the election. This is something that hasn’t occurred in our country's history ever before. Lawmakers had to wear gas masks to protect themselves from the tear gas and bear spray that was released. People were getting shot at and a lot were using violence and other objects to injure others.A woman named Ashli Babbitt had been one of the four people who died on this horrible day. Politicians asked Trump to tell his supporters to stop and go home. unfortunately, he did not do that. Instead, he said he loved his supporters, they are special people, and that the election was “stolen”.The supporters had stayed in Capitol Hill even after the curfew that was placed by police. It was an outrageous and violent riot caused by Trump supporters that America has never witnessed before held in a federal building.. Even after the horrific events the U S Senators still tried to do their jobs and confirm the electoral votes. The building was completely clear twelve hours later after the riot had started. After all this devastating mess had happen in Capitol Hill they had to find the people who broke the law. They had made fourteen arrest so far and none have been Washington D.C residents. They had to arrest people who vandalized and did not make it peaceful. There was no reason for breaking or threatening the workers in Capitol Hill. This horrible event had led to an officer dieing who was just trying to protect the lawmakers and stop the riot. This had been an outbreak that didn't need to happen. Overall, I think it was hurtful to see Americans do such an act. This is not how I remember America being. There is no reason for violence like this in our country we should all be working together.I feel it was completely disrespectful for what this mob had done in Capitol Hill. This was not acceptable. There is a difference between a peaceful protest and a mob riot which injures and/or kills others.I hope America can learn from this and move on to be a better country.

December is national impared driving month especially during the holidays there are many people that die in this situation.Everyday almost thirty people die of drunk driving and thirty thousand die of it in a year . When you drink alcohol it reduces the function of the brain, impairing thinking, reasoning and muscle coordination. All the abilities you need to drive.Far to many families lose someone to imparied driving or have to deal with health and financial consequences that result from this illegal conduct.Any alcohol, drugs,or any medication can be called imopared driving. When you get in a car you need to understand it's a weapon. If you are intoxicated you can have a chance of killing yourself and someone.
For example a father and two of his children were killed by a suspected drunk driver in California last Friday after leaving a family member’s house. Tavea Tarlton, 31 was driving his four children in a Toyota Camry from his mother’s home when their car was struck at an intersection by a man driving a Ford Mustang at about 11:45 p.m. in San BernardinoThe driver of the Mustang, 23 year-old Brandon Jaquez-Perez, is accused of blowing a red light before striking the family, the report said, citing police. The impact left Tarlton’s vehicle in flames. The father, who witnesses could not pull from the vehicle, died at the scene. His four children, ranging from ages 2 to 8, were rescued from the burning car. But the two youngest, a 2 year-old boy named Farrow and a 4-year-old girl named Eliza died at the hospital. This story is so sad and is something we can prevent from happening in society. ![]() The first American Indian day was celebrated in May 1916 in New York. One of the founders was Dr. Arthur C. Parker, a Seneca Indian he was the director of the Museum of Arts and Science. He had been able to persuade the boys scouts of America to take a day for the first Americans. The governor of New York had declared the first day. This month is important because we are celebrating our nation's first people. Native Americans have contributed a-lot to our country we shouldn't just recognize them for this month we should keep on recognizing them. Around the country there are a lot of different activities and celebrations to honor this month. For example the National park service shares history and has events throughout November. One of these events is in The National Museum of the American Indian. They present a showcase of the best in native films. They do the showcase annually. This year for their 20th annual showcase, they are showing the whole program online. They usually explain the history in the Indigenous communities throughout the Western Hemisphere and the Arctic. If you want to know more about the Alaska Native Heritage you could visit. The Alaska Native Heritage Center explains their history while doing events and activities to educate you. One of the activities they do is a performance of their dance there culture does. My thoughts about the celebrations of the American Indians and Alaska heritage is that it should be celebrated, because of their origins which many people have heard of, but are not educated or know deeply about them. It is always important to learn about other cultures to educate yourself about them. Learning about cultures is big, because it shows the differences between people and how they live. ![]() In The United States of America it is unfortunate that most kids have been bullied in school or elsewhere growing up studies show. A bully is a person who seeks to harm or intimidate those whom they perceive as vulnerable and weak. There are different types of bullying like verbal, psychological, physical, andcyber bullying.Verbal bullying people could get teased and taunted by others. Psychological bullying people get gossiped about or get excluded from things. People get beat up and hurt when it's physical bullying. Cyber bullying is done mainly with the use of the internet when people use social media or negative text messages to hurt others. What I find sad about this form of bullying is that they wouldn’t say those bad things they write to the other individual in person. Bullying to me is not acceptable amongst all of us.It is upsetting to hear that in the US, one in five students ages twelve to eighteen has been bullied during the school year. These negative and hurtful experiences stay with most children into adulthood. This is a very serious issue that many kids face in their everyday lives and we need to bring it to a stop. It feels horrible for a person to get bullied which is why I try to always treat people with respect. when I see someone getting bullied I make sure I help them out and not be a bystander. I never understood why people have to bully others. Maybe, it's a way they hide their weakness or insecurities. I don't find the benefit in it at all but making yourself feel better at the expense of others. We just need to prevent this from happening to more people. Bullying doesn't cause any happiness in someone's life. It just causes issues and more problems. I feel like everyone should be aware and try your best to prevent more people from getting bullied. Bullying can lead people into a lot of different things like feelings of loneliness, rejection, exclusion, and hopelessness. In addition, bullying can also lead to depression and anxiety which may lead to suicidal thoughts. Bullying takes a toll on someone’s mental health and how they view themselves . Kids usually bully because they lack attention or they learn their behavior from home. Overall, any type of bullying is horrible and should not be accepted. The person I picked for Hispanic Heritage Month is someone very special to me, my great grandfather, Ramon Oviedo.
